Added Alpine Global Dynamic Fund to Portfolio
During the recent market crash, I managed to buy into Alpine Global Dynamic Fund (AGD listed on the NYSE) for a price of US$5.64. This is one of those monthly dividend stocks and the dividends for the next few months is at US$0.06 per share. Not a bad yield considering my purchase price. This should add to my passive income stream quite a fair bit over the next few months.

ReplyDeleteYou may like to check out Cornerstone Progressive Return Fund (AMEX:CFP). Monthly dividend is $0.103. Current price $6.6. However need to take note that the dividends are subjected to 30% tax for US share.
ReplyDeleteAnother risk is the USD currency keep falling slowly. So if SGD continue strengthen over USD then the return become not attractive. My personal experience, some of the US stock purchase when the USD/SGD rate is 1.4, now the rate is 1.21. about -14%, thus the gain has almost wipe out by this currency risk.
ReplyDeleteYes. Foreign exchange risk is indeed one thing to factor when buying US stocks. Buyers beware..
